Yusuke Shiratori

Prof. Yusuke Shiratori is a Professor at Kogakuin University whose research bridges electrochemical engineering, biomass utilization, and sustainable energy systems. His work focuses on developing high-efficiency, biofuel-powered solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and circular energy technologies that convert locally available biomass into clean electricity. By combining fundamental studies of electrochemical reactions and catalyst materials with system-level engineering, he advances practical solutions for carbon-neutral energy production. His laboratory also develops innovative hydrogen-production catalysts and recyclable biochar-based desulfurization materials for biogas applications. Through close collaboration with industry and international partners, particularly in Southeast Asia, Dr. Shiratori is helping accelerate the transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon society.
