Prof. Jonghoon Kim is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chungnam National University, Republic of Korea. He received his combined M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University. His research focuses on battery management systems (BMS) for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, including state-of-charge and state-of-health estimation, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy-based diagnostics, optimal charging strategies, thermal management, battery pack design, and next-generation cloud-based and digital-twin-enabled BMS. His work also encompasses battery reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling, multi-scale battery modeling, fuel cell systems, and vehicle-to-grid technologies. Through the integration of electrochemistry, power electronics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies, Prof. Kim has made significant contributions to the development of intelligent, safe, and sustainable battery systems.
