Assoc. Prof. Tran Hoang Phuong is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM-US). He is a leading researcher in organic chemistry, with expertise in ionic liquids, green catalysis, biomass conversion, natural products chemistry, and peptide synthesis. His research focuses on developing advanced catalytic materials, particularly ionic liquids and surface-modified carbon materials, for sustainable chemical processes, as well as the isolation and structural characterization of bioactive natural compounds. In addition to his research, Assoc. Prof. Tran actively promotes academic excellence, graduate education, and scientific innovation through interdisciplinary research and international collaboration.
