Prof. Deyang Qu is the Johnson Controls Endowed Professor in Energy Storage Research, Chair of Biomedical Engineering, and UWM Distinguished Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. An internationally recognized leader in electrochemical energy storage, his research spans solid-state lithium batteries, lithium–sulfur batteries, lithium-ion batteries, metal–air batteries, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage technologies. Supported by both the U.S. Department of Energy and industrial partners, his work bridges fundamental electrochemistry and practical energy applications. Through his scientific leadership and innovative research, Dr. Qu has contributed significantly to the development of next-generation energy-storage systems that support transportation electrification and a sustainable energy future.
